This assortment of clear glassware is characterised by gilt painted rims and diverse decorative motifs. The group features a commemorative goblet produced for the 1981 Royal Wedding, which is etched with the inscription The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer 29th July 1981 flanking a central Prince of Wales feathers crest with the motto Ich Dien. A wide gilt band around the base of the bowl repeats the words Royal Wedding. The collection further includes a series of stemmed glasses with etched scrolling foliate and floral patterns on faceted hexagonal stems. Also present are handled cups decorated with a gilt bow and garland motif, a heavy glass tumbler with star-cut base and faceted fluting, and a footed bowl featuring hand-painted red berries and gilt sprigs. The style and construction suggest mid-to-late 20th century manufacture.
Condition report:
The glassware is in good overall condition. There is minor expected wear to the gilding on some rims and handles consistent with age and use. No chips, cracks, or significant clouding were observed during inspection.
