An assortment of vintage costume jewellery brooches of various styles and motifs. The collection includes a brooch in the style of Victorian Scottish pebble jewellery, featuring a large, faceted oval banded agate in shades of brown, caramel, and honey, held in an asymmetrical gold-tone mount with alternating polished and ribbed bands. Also featured is a silver-tone brooch modelled as a rosebud on a textured stem with two leaves, finished with a dark patina and a bark-effect texture. A rectangular gold-tone filigree brooch is included, featuring scrolled openwork and a central cobalt blue enamel boss with a starburst motif set with a small white faux pearl. Completing the assortment is a stylized dragonfly brooch in silver-tone metal, with wings and a segmented tail set with clear paste stones, a dark blue faceted paste thorax, and a white faux pearl head. All items are fitted with standard pin and catch mechanisms to the reverse. No maker’s marks or hallmarks are visible.
Condition report:
The items are in generally good vintage condition. The silver-tone rose brooch shows surface wear and tarnishing consistent with age. The filigree brooch appears intact with no visible damage to the enamel. The dragonfly brooch exhibits light tarnishing to the metal, though all paste stones appear to be present. The banded agate stone displays natural banding and some internal inclusions or fracture lines typical of the material; the gold-tone mount shows minor surface scratches.
