British Philatelic Numismatic Cover (PNC) commemorating the royal wedding of Prince Edward and Sophie Rhys-Jones, produced by Mercury, Watford. the cover features three postage stamps: two commemoratives from the 1999 Royal Wedding issue (Stanley Gibbons SG 2092 and 2093) and a red 1st class Machin definitive. The commemorative stamps are cancelled with a Royal Mail Windsor circular date stamp (CDS) dated 15 June 1999, and the Machin definitive is cancelled with a Windsor CDS dated 6 January 1999. A commemorative silver-toned coin is inset into the cacheted cover, which features an illustration of St. George’s Chapel, Windsor. The cover is marked with serial number 0303. The assembly is mounted on a descriptive information sheet titled The Edward and Sophie Royal Wedding Stamp Collection, which includes biographical text regarding the bride’s public appearances and choice of jewellery.
Condition report:
The stamps and cover are in excellent condition with no visible foxing, toning, or staining. Cancellations are clear and well-struck. The inset coin appears bright with no signs of tarnishing. The mounting sheet is clean with only minor handling wear at the binder punch holes.
