Buyer's Premium:

A late 19th or early 20th-century German architectural-style mantel clock by the Hamburg American Clock Company (HAC). The clock is housed in a stained wood case with a curved pediment featuring a central carved shell-and-scroll motif. The dial is flanked by fluted pilasters, and the whole rests on a stepped plinth base with bracket feet. The white circular dial has black Roman numeral hour markers with red fleur-de-lis motifs, ornate fleur-de-lis style hands, and two winding apertures. The dial bears the manufacturer mark of two crossed arrows. The rear reveals a brass mechanical twin-train movement striking on a coiled wire gong, with the pendulum present.
Height approximately 29 cm.

Condition report:

The wooden case exhibits typical age-related wear, including minor surface abrasions and small scuffs consistent with use. The movement is mechanical and currently untested for timekeeping or striking functionality. Auction houses recommend professional servicing for all antique mechanical timepieces. Includes pendulum; winding key is not present.
