A vintage piano accordion by Mantovani, featuring a grey and white marbled pearloid celluloid finish. The instrument is equipped with a 26-key piano-style keyboard featuring cream-toned pearloid keys and a bass section with 48 buttons. The treble casing is decorated with an ornate Art Deco style geometric cut-out metal grille set over a gold-coloured mesh backing. The maker’s name Mantovani is applied in red cursive script to the front casing. The bellows are finished with gold-tone tape trimming and reinforced with metal corners. The accordion retains its original leather shoulder straps and is housed in a blue rexine-covered hardshell carrying case with a green-flocked interior.
Condition report:
The accordion is in fair vintage condition. The keyboard keys exhibit noticeable age-related yellowing, and there is minor surface wear to the celluloid finish. While the bellows appear physically intact, the instrument has not been professionally tested for airtightness or musical functionality. The carrying case shows significant signs of age and use, including scuffing, losses to the exterior rexine covering, and oxidation to the metal clasps and corners. Sold as an untested musical instrument and collector\'s item.
