The reverse design types include the hazel dormouse, red squirrel, oak leaves and acorns, capercaillie, puffin, Atlantic salmon, bees, and the floral emblems of the four nations. The coins are struck in copper-plated steel, cupro-nickel, and bi-metallic compositions. Each piece features clear inscriptions of its denomination and the date 2023. The set is housed in the original Royal Mint commemorative card packaging, printed with the text King Charles III Definitives and 2023 UK BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED COIN SET.
