A 2020 UK commemorative £2 coin issued to mark the 250th anniversary of Captain James Cook’s voyage of discovery. This bimetallic coin consists of a nickel-brass outer ring and a cupro-nickel inner core. The reverse design features a depiction of the ship HMS Endeavour over a coastal map, incorporating the numeral 250 and the inscription CAPTAIN JAMES COOK with the dates 1770 – 2020. The coin is housed in a navy blue Change Checker presentation card printed with the text UNITED KINGDOM £2. A holographic security strip at the bottom of the card repeatedly displays the text CERTIFIED BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED UNITED KINGDOM.
Condition report:
The coin is in brilliant uncirculated condition, retaining original mint lustre with no visible signs of wear or handling. The presentation card is well-preserved with no significant creases, edge wear, or damage to the protective plastic window.
