A gilt-metal commemorative medallion depicting Windsor Castle. The obverse features a relief architectural view of the castle, showing the Round Tower and adjacent buildings, with the inscription WINDSOR CASTLE arched across the upper edge. The medallion is presented in its original navy blue textured case. The interior lid is lined with cream silk-effect fabric and features a gilt-stamped Royal-style crest. This crest consists of a central inscription WINDSOR CASTLE within a garter bearing the motto HONI SOIT QUI MAL Y PENSE, surmounted by St Edward’s Crown. The case base is lined with blue velvet and includes a blue silk pull-ribbon. Such medallions are typically associated with the official gift shops of the Royal residences or produced for presentation to staff and visitors.
Condition report:
The medallion shows surface patina and minor signs of handling consistent with age. The presentation case is in good overall condition with minor scuffing to the exterior and light age-toning to the internal silk lining. The pull-ribbon is intact and functional.
