A collection of vintage promotional trade and cigarette card albums and associated loose cards, primarily issued by British tobacco and food companies. The lot includes multiple green-covered albums titled Classic Sports Cars issued by Castella Panatellas, along with a larger format booklet titled Soldiers of Waterloo from the same issuer. Also present are several cream and green-striped albums for Park Drive Cigarette Cards (Gallaher Ltd), with one specifically marked for the Dogs series and priced at 1d. There is a yellow Brooke Bond picture card album titled History of the Motor Car, illustrated by Kenneth Rush and described by Peter Hull, with a printed price of sixpence. A blue booklet for The Donington Collection motor racing museum is also included. A significant quantity of loose cards is housed in clear plastic pocket sleeves; these cards predominantly depict veteran, vintage, and classic motor cars, including early touring and sports models. The albums are constructed from printed cardstock and paper, with many featuring staple bindings.
Condition report:
The collection is in good vintage condition with signs of age-appropriate handling and shelf wear. The album covers show light creasing, minor foxing, and some discolouration, particularly to the older Park Drive examples. The loose cards are ungraded and stored in protective sleeves; they appear generally well-preserved, though centering and edge wear may vary across individual cards. The completeness of the albums has not been verified.
