Estimated price: £20 - £30

Buyer's Premium:

A collection of approximately 22 antique and vintage glass bottles and jars, dating from the mid-Victorian period through the early 20th century. The assembly comprises various utilitarian forms including octagonal-sided medicinal or poison bottles, rectangular apothecary vessels with chamfered corners, cylindrical utility jars, and square-based inkwells. The glass colours range from natural aqua and pale sea green to deep emerald and forest green. The bottles are mould-blown, with many featuring hand-finished necks for cork closures and smooth, post-pontil bases. The surfaces exhibit characteristic traits of excavated glass, including iridescent mineral deposits, internal clouding, and a weathered patina. No manufacturer marks or embossed lettering are clearly visible on the bodies or bases.

Condition report:

In as-found, excavated condition. The items exhibit typical signs of long-term burial including surface abrasions, iridescent mineral deposits, and internal clouding. Minor flea bites and small surface chips consistent with age and recovery are present throughout the collection. No significant structural damage or large fractures are visible.
