A 2018 United Kingdom two-pound (£2) commemorative coin issued by the Royal Mint to mark the 250th anniversary of Captain James Cook’s voyage of discovery. This bi-metallic coin consists of a gold-coloured nickel-brass outer ring and a silver-coloured cupro-nickel inner disc. The obverse features the fifth portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark, with the legend ELIZABETH II · D · G · REG · F · D · 2 POUNDS. The reverse, designed by Gary Breeze, includes the inscriptions 1768-2018, 250, and CAPTAIN JAMES COOK. The coin is housed in a Change Checker presentation card with an integrated security hologram.
