Bank of England Ten Shillings banknote issued during the tenure of Chief Cashier K.O. Peppiatt, circa 1940-1948. The obverse is printed in mauve ink on cream paper stock and features a vignette of a seated Britannia within an ornate frame on the left, balanced by the denomination 10 Shillings on the right. The note displays the printed signature of K.O. Peppiatt and bears the serial number H41D 395713 in two positions. The reverse shows a decorative green and pink acanthus leaf design flanking two 10/- denomination markers. This issue is identified as Pick #366.
Condition report:
Very Fine. The note displays a light vertical centre fold and minor scattered foxing, most notably along the margins. The paper remains crisp with generally even borders and sharp printing. There are no apparent pinholes or tears.
