A United Kingdom silver crown dated 1897. The obverse features the Veiled Head portrait of Queen Victoria, with the engraver initials T.B. for Thomas Brock visible at the truncation of the bust. The surrounding legend reads VICTORIA DEI GRA BRITT REGINA FID DEF IND IMP. The reverse displays the St. George and Dragon design with the date 1897 and the artist initials B.P. for Benedetto Pistrucci in the exergue. The coin is struck in sterling silver.
Condition report:
Very Fine. Moderate wear is evident on the high points of the portrait and reverse design. The fields and relief show numerous contact marks, hairlines, and small scratches. Peripheral dark grey toning is present on both sides.
