Buyer's Premium:

This Soviet-made Quarz 8mm movie camera was manufactured by KMZ (Krasnogorsk Mechanical Factory). This specific example is an export version, featuring the brand name in Latin script. The body is constructed from die-cast metal with a black crinkle-texture finish and polished chrome trim. It features a fixed-focus lens with a top-mounted aperture control dial showing stops from 1.9 to 16. The front plate displays the manufacturer’s logo, consisting of a trapezoid with a horizontal line and arrow, along with the stylized Quarz branding. Side controls include a dial for frame rates of 8, 16, and 32, as well as a footage counter marked from Start to End. The camera is accompanied by a detachable screw-in pistol grip with an integrated trigger, an original tan pebble-grain leather carrying case with an adjustable shoulder strap, and an original instruction manual titled Movie Making with the Quarz.

Condition report:

The camera is in good vintage condition with minor surface wear and light signs of handling to the crinkle finish and chrome elements. The spring-driven motor winding handle is present and the pistol grip trigger appears functional. Internal mechanical functions, shutter timing, and lens clarity have not been tested with film and the item is sold as-is. The leather case shows moderate wear and some cracking to the strap consistent with age. The instruction manual is complete with some yellowing and handling marks.
