This 1990 UK Brilliant Uncirculated Coin Collection is a set issued by the Royal Mint. The collection comprises the standard decimal denominations for the year, including the one pound with the Scottish thistle reverse, the fifty pence, twenty pence, ten pence, two pence, and one penny. This specific set features both the large-sized and the newly introduced smaller five pence coins from that year. Each coin features the third circulating portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf on the obverse. The collection is housed in its original blue fold-out presentation folder, which has a cream-coloured linen-textured surface decorated with a white lace-style border and an embroidered Union Jack. The folder is inscribed with 1990 UNITED KINGDOM BRILLIANT UNCIRCULATED COIN COLLECTION and ROYAL MINT.
Condition report:
The coins are in brilliant uncirculated condition as issued. The original presentation folder shows minor shelf wear and light signs of handling, primarily at the corners and edges, but remains in good overall condition.
