Lot 45: A Vintage Parlour-Style Acoustic Guitar

Live auction will start in __ days and __ hours

Start price: £1

Buyer's Premium:

A vintage small-bodied parlour acoustic guitar, likely dating from the mid-20th century. The instrument features a wooden body with a dark sunburst-style finish and a simple circular soundhole without decorative purfling. The neck is joined to the body at the 12th fret and features a dark wood fretboard with white dot inlays. It is fitted with a slotted headstock housing side-mounted metal tuners with white plastic buttons. The bridge is a simple rectangular dark wood design. The overall construction and style are consistent with mid-century mass-produced instruments, potentially of European or Soviet origin, although no internal labels or maker’s marks are visible to confirm a specific manufacturer.

Condition report:

The instrument exhibits significant signs of age and wear. There is extensive lacquer checking and craquelure across the entire body finish. Multiple scuffs, scratches, and areas of finish loss are visible, particularly around the edges. Most strings are missing. The guitar is offered as a restoration project or for decorative purposes.
