A collection of UK bi-metallic two pound (£2) commemorative coins issued by the Royal Mint. Each coin is composed of a nickel-brass outer ring and a cupro-nickel inner disc. The group includes several distinct reverse designs: a 2016 coin commemorating the centenary of the First World War (Army) with a stylized soldier silhouette, a 2016 coin marking the 400th anniversary of William Shakespeare’s death (Histories) featuring a crown and dagger, a 2007 coin for the bicentenary of the Abolition of the Slave Trade featuring the date 1807 and a broken chain link, a 2004 coin for the 200th anniversary of Richard Trevithick’s steam locomotive, and a 2015 coin for the First World War (Royal Navy) depicting a battleship at sea. All coins feature milled edges and standard commemorative reverse inscriptions.


Condition report:

The coins are in circulated condition, grading fine to very fine. There are visible surface scratches, contact marks, and minor edge nicks consistent with general circulation. Varying degrees of toning and loss of original mint lustre are present across the collection.
