This set comprises a bulbous earthenware jug and a matching large circular charger, in the style of French provincial art pottery such as that produced in Mougins or the Provence region. The items are constructed from terracotta with a cream-coloured glazed ground. They are decorated with hand-painted foliate and floral motifs in a rustic folk-art style using a palette of muted blue, purple, yellow, and olive green. The jug features stylised floral sprays around the midsection with horizontal bands of yellow-ochre and green at the neck, overlaid with a brown scrolling pattern. The charger displays a central multi-coloured foliate spray and a matching scrolling border around the rim. No maker marks, signatures, or backstamps are visible on either piece.

Condition report:
The set is in generally good condition. There is a small area of glaze loss or flaking visible on the charger near the top of the central foliate decoration. Normal manufacturing irregularities and light surface wear consistent with age and use are present.
