A French Moustiers faience lidded tureen and matching underplate. This tin-glazed earthenware set features a polychrome hand-painted design on a white ground, depicting long-tailed birds, floral sprays, and insects. The decoration is framed by stylised geometric borders in yellow, green, and blue. The tureen is of circular form with a pedestal foot and twin side handles, topped with a domed lid and a moulded foliate finial. The interior base of the tureen bears a hand-painted mark in black which reads: MOUSTIERS. F.H.

Condition report:
The tureen has a notable chip to the upper rim, approximately 1.5cm in width, exposing the underlying earthenware body. Minor surface scuffs and general age-related wear are present throughout. No other visible cracks or repairs are noted from the provided images.
