A 925 silver figural brooch designed as a rhinoceros in profile. The piece features a smooth, polished finish with stylized anatomical details and is of a substantial hollow-form construction, providing a three-dimensional appearance. The reverse is struck with several hallmarks including STERLING, 925, the maker’s mark WSG, and the Common Control Mark depicting scales with 925. An additional mark depicting a profile head facing right is also present. The brooch is fitted with a horizontal hinged pin and a rolling safety catch mechanism.
Condition report:
The brooch is in good condition with minor surface scuffs, fine scratches, and light tarnishing consistent with age and wear. The pin mechanism and rolling safety catch are intact and functional. No significant dents or structural damage are visible.
