A vintage copper tea kettle of circular tapering form with a prominent central horizontal seam. The kettle features a curved gooseneck spout and a domed copper lid with a small steam vent and a black-turned wooden finial. The arched handle consists of a black ebonised wood grip with turned detailing, held by two cast brass scroll-form supports riveted to the shoulder. The piece exhibits a machine-pressed or spun copper construction with cast brass components and riveted joins. No maker’s marks are visible. A small white adhesive sticker on the shoulder bears the printed number 2001, likely an inventory or lot identifier.
Condition report:
The kettle is in used condition with visible signs of age. There are several surface scratches, minor indentations to the body, and areas of green oxidation (verdigris) particularly evident along the central seam and around the handle rivets. The polished finish shows some tarnishing and general wear consistent with age and utility.
