Buyer's Premium:

A collection of 1986 United Kingdom proof coins produced by the Royal Mint. The set comprises multiple denominations including the commemorative two pound coin for the XIII Commonwealth Games, the Northern Ireland flax plant one pound coin, and various decimal denominations. A square commemorative medallion with a dark finish is also included, featuring a crown and the inscription Elizabeth R 1986. The coins are struck in nickel-brass, cupro-nickel, and bronze to a proof standard, characterized by mirror-like fields and frosted relief. Reverse designs include the thistle within a laurel wreath, a flax plant, Britannia, the crowned Tudor rose, a crowned lion, a crowned thistle, the Prince of Wales’s feathers, and a crowned portcullis. The collection is housed in a clear acrylic protective case with a black display insert. All obverses feature the Raphael Maklouf portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.


Condition report:

Proof condition. The coins appear uncirculated with no visible signs of wear, handling marks, or toning. The protective presentation case is intact, showing only minor surface scuffing to the exterior plastic consistent with storage and age.
