This lot comprises a large collection of UK and international coinage, contained within a rectangular MacDonalds Scottish Shortbread Fingers advertising tin with a tartan motif. UK coinage includes pre-decimal and decimal issues such as pennies, halfpennies including the ship design, shillings, and florins, with portraits of George VI and Elizabeth II. International coinage includes an 8 Doubles piece from Guernsey, an Elizabeth II Mauritius coin, a 1972 scalloped issue from Malta, and a scalloped Hong Kong 10 Cents. Additional pieces feature inscriptions including REPUBLICA, CENTAVOS, and BANQUE CENTRALE. Metal compositions include copper, bronze, brass, and cupro-nickel. Dates observed range from 1921 through the late 20th century.
Condition report:
Coins are in circulated condition, generally ranging from good to very fine. Visible surface wear, various stages of natural toning, and environmental oxidation throughout. The advertising tin exhibits minor surface abrasions and internal wear consistent with age.
