The set contains two distinct groupings representing the transition to decimalisation in the United Kingdom. The pre-decimal group comprises cupro-nickel, nickel-brass, and bronze denominations including the Halfcrown, Florin, Sixpence, Threepence, Penny, and Halfpenny, primarily dated 1967. The decimal group features the initial issues of the new currency system, including the heptagonal 50 New Pence and circular 10, 5, 2, 1, and 1/2 New Pence denominations. The coins are mounted on a brown textured card with white printed labels and housed within a clear plastic display case.
Condition report:
The plastic display case exhibits significant structural damage, including several large cracks and fractures located over the pre-decimal coin section. The coins remain in their original mounting and appear in circulated to uncirculated condition. Visible surface toning is present on several pieces, particularly the bronze denominations.
