A collection of four terracotta earthenware garden planters of varying forms. One planter is of a tall, tapered form with a prominent, rounded overhanging rim; this example features impressed lettering around the shoulder which includes the word YORKSHIRE preceded by an ampersand and other partially obscured characters, indicating manufacture in the Yorkshire region. Two of the planters are of classic conical flowerpot design with simple rims. The final planter features decorative horizontal banding to the lower body and a wide, flared rim. All four planters are constructed with a single central drainage hole to the base.
Condition report:
The planters are in a weathered, used condition consistent with prolonged outdoor exposure. Visible signs of age and use include heavy efflorescence (white mineral deposits), soil residue, and minor surface abrasions. No major structural cracks or large chips are evident.
