An assortment of carved alabaster decorative items, comprising urn-form vessels and circular ashtrays. Each piece is fashioned from a translucent white stone, featuring relief-carved stylized floral and foliate motifs around the bodies and gadrooned edges. The ashtrays are designed with shallow central wells and notched rims, whilst the vessels feature bulbous bodies set upon flared, circular bases. These items are stylistically consistent with mid-20th century Italian hand-carved alabaster wares often utilised as components for table lamps. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible.
Condition report:
The collection is in mixed condition. One urn-shaped vessel displays a significant loss to the foot of its base. There is general surface wear, minor pitting, and internal staining present across all items, consistent with age and previous use.
