A pair of hand-modelle, designed in a whimsical folk-art style to resemble worn work boots. The forms are characterised by exaggerated proportions, featuring floppy, oversized collars and blown-out open toes. The exterior is finished in a glossy, mottled sea-foam green or pale celadon glaze, accented with iron-oxide washes and sponged brown highlights to the lacing areas, soles, and edges to simulate a weathered appearance. No maker’s marks, signatures, or backstamps are visible on the interior or exterior surfaces. The pair is attributed to an unidentified studio potter, likely dating from the mid-to-late 20th century.
