A mid-20th-century Rotary Super Sports manual wind wristwatch. The watch features a cushion-shaped base metal case with remnants of gold plating and capping to the bezel and lugs. The aged cream and silvered dial is set with applied gold-toned Arabic numerals at the 12, 2, 4, 8, and 10 o’clock positions, interspersed with triangular indices. A small seconds sub-dial is positioned at 6 o’clock. The dial is signed ROTARY SUPER SPORTS and ANTIMAGNETIC. It is equipped with luminous-filled dauphine-style hour and minute hands and is fitted to a dark brown leather strap with a simple tang buckle. The watch is presented in an associated vintage Ingersoll presentation box with a cream satin-effect interior lining.
Case size: Approximately 30mm width (excluding crown).
Condition report:
The watch is in well-worn vintage condition. The case displays significant brassing and substantial loss of gold plating, especially on the leading edges and lugs. The dial has developed a heavy, even patina with spotting consistent with age. The acrylic crystal shows various scratches. The leather strap is in poor condition, exhibiting heavy creasing, wear, and structural fatigue. The movement is currently untested for timekeeping or functionality. A professional service is recommended.
