This lot comprises an extensive collection of mid to late 20th-century costume jewellery and accessories presented in a vintage wooden cigar box. The interior lid of the box retains a paper label for Medallion Havana Tobaccos, featuring a central crown emblem and text identifying Fribourg and Treyer Ltd. Notable items within the collection include a chunky silver-tone chain necklace with a circular pendant containing a multi-coloured mosaic of glass or resin fragments. There is a large snowflake-form brooch or pendant finished in teal-coloured enamel and a hair barrette featuring a blue enamel ground with a pink and gold-tone floral design. The assortment further includes a bohemian-style necklace with large irregular green, yellow, and red resin beads, a long double-strand silver-tone chain with a hammered-effect teardrop pendant, and a graduated bead necklace with silver-tone textured and neutral-toned faceted beads. The lot also contains various multi-strand necklaces of red and multi-coloured seed beads, alongside a variety of tangled fine and costume-weight chains in gold and silver-tone base metals. Materials observed include base metals, enamel, glass, resin, and acrylic.
Condition report:
The items are offered in an as-found, tangled condition within the box. General surface wear and tarnishing to the base metal components are present throughout, consistent with age and bulk storage. The lot has not been fully inventoried for missing stones, broken clasps, or individual damage.
