A 1998 United Kingdom Brilliant Uncirculated nine coin collection issued by the Royal Mint to mark the introduction of the fourth circulating coinage portrait of HM Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank-Broadley. The set is presented in its original blue folding card folder and includes nine denominations with various metal compositions. The obverse of each coin features the fourth portrait of the Queen with the Latin legend ELIZABETH II D G REG F D. The reverse designs include the symbolic representation of industrial development (£2), the Royal Arms (£1), the seated figure of Britannia (50p), the celebratory arrangement of twelve stars commemorating the 25th anniversary of the UK joining the EU (50p), the crowned Tudor rose (20p), the crowned lion of England (10p), the crowned thistle (5p), the Prince of Wales’s feathers (2p), and a crowned portcullis (1p). The set identifies previous portrait changes in 1953, 1968, and 1985.

Condition report:

The coins are in brilliant uncirculated condition as issued, retaining full original mint lustre and exhibiting no signs of wear or handling marks. The original blue presentation folder is well-preserved with sharp edges and minimal signs of shelf wear.
