A United Kingdom Brilliant Uncirculated Coin Collection for the year 2000, issued by the Royal Mint to commemorate the Millennium. The collection is housed in the original light blue folding card presentation folder. The set comprises nine coins featuring both standard and commemorative reverse designs for the year. The denominations included are a bi-metallic two-pound coin with the technological reverse; a nickel-brass one-pound coin featuring the Welsh dragon; two cupro-nickel fifty-pence coins, including the standard Britannia reverse and the commemorative Public Libraries reverse; a cupro-nickel twenty-pence with the Tudor rose; a cupro-nickel ten-pence with the lion; a cupro-nickel five-pence with the thistle; a copper-plated steel two-pence with the Prince of Wales feathers; and a copper-plated steel one-penny with the portcullis. All coins are struck to a brilliant uncirculated standard, intended for collectors rather than general circulation.
