This collection contains several vintage football matchday programmes, primarily documenting Manchester United’s participation in European competitions during the 1960s. Included are two examples of the United Review official programme for the European Champions Cup semi-final first leg between Manchester United and Real Madrid, played at Old Trafford on 24 April 1968. Also present is a United Review programme for the European Champions Cup eighth-final second leg against F.K. Sarajevo, dated 29 November 1967. The group features programmes for away fixtures, including Waterford v Manchester United at Lansdowne Road on 18 September 1968, Sporting Club de Portugal v Manchester United at the Estádio Alvalade on 18 March 1964, and the return leg of the European Cup semi-final, Real Madrid v Manchester United, played in Madrid on 15 May 1968. A further programme is an Ajax official matchday publication dated 15 September 1976 from the 1976/77 season, featuring a portrait of Ruud Krol on the cover. The items are printed on paper stock and feature various club crests, competition logos, and photographic illustrations.
Condition report:
The programmes show signs of age-related wear consistent with paper ephemera of this period. Visible issues include minor creasing to the covers and edges, light corner wear, and general yellowing or tanning of the paper. The F.K. Sarajevo programme exhibits more significant tanning across the front cover. Overall, the items appear to be in good collectible condition with no major tears or missing sections visible from the exterior.
