This set of glazed earthenware coffee wares features the Greek Key pattern, a design attributed to Susan Williams-Ellis for Portmeirion Pottery, dating from the 1960s. The collection includes a tall coffee pot of elongated cylindrical form, characterised by a sharp angular handle and a long, tapering spout. The pot is fitted with a black-glazed, dome-shaped lid topped with a spherical finial. The set also includes several cylindrical coffee cans with small loop handles and a handleless sugar bowl. Each piece is decorated with a bold, black-printed Greek key meander band at the rim against a cream-coloured glazed ground. No factory marks or signatures are visible on the bases or bodies of the items.
Height of coffee pot: 320mm.
Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition for its age. All pieces exhibit fine, age-related crazing to the glaze, which is most noticeable on the sugar bowl and the lower sections of the pot and cans. No chips, cracks, or signs of restoration are visible.
