A vintage folk-art style wooden figure representing the character Pinocchio. The piece is constructed from multiple carved wooden blocks with articulation at the shoulders and hips. The figure is hand-painted, featuring large blue eyes, a protruding nose, and red-flushed cheeks. It is depicted wearing a white shirt with a painted tie, blue shorts, a red peaked hat, and red-painted hands and shoes. The limbs are jointed with simple wooden pins. There are remnants of small, dark printed characters on the side of the blue shorts, however, these marks are worn and illegible.
Condition report:
The figure shows significant signs of age-related wear. There is heavy crazing and cracking to the painted surface, most prominent on the head and face. Widespread paint loss, scuffing, and surface grime are present across the entire figure, particularly on the edges of the wooden blocks and the extremities. The structural joints appear to be intact and functional.
