A rectangular Art Deco style pill or snuff box constructed from silver-tone metal. The hinged lid features an engine-turned sunburst pattern radiating from a central bezel-set oval black cabochon, possibly onyx. The sides and base of the box are finished with a textured stippled effect. It is fitted with an integral thumbpiece for opening. No hallmarks or maker’s marks are visible on the exterior surfaces. The interior was not inspected.
Condition report:
The box remains in good vintage condition. There is a noticeable aged patina and tarnish, particularly concentrated within the engine-turned decoration and around the hinge. No chips or cracks are evident to the cabochon stone. The hinge mechanism appears functional.
