A collection of glazed earthenware teaware comprising a teapot with a domed cover and pointed finial, and several large rounded cups with coordinating saucers. The set is decorated in a whimsical folk-art style, with each piece showcasing a hand-painted, stylized fruit motif including a pear, apple, strawberry, and orange. The designs are defined by raised white slip-trailed outlines against an ochre and cream ground. The edges and bases are accented with bold, contrasting striped borders in various colours including red, blue, green, and yellow. The items are in the style of contemporary manufacturers such as Bella Casa by Ganz. No maker’s marks are visible.
Condition report:
The set is in fair used condition with a notable layer of surface grime both internally and externally. Small chips and fritting are visible on the rim of at least one saucer, notably the blue and white striped example. There is minor glaze wear and potential tiny nicks to the rim of the teapot lid and base. No significant cracks or professional repairs are apparent.
