A 1:24 scale die-cast model of a 1904 Mercedes Simplex produced by Franklin Mint Precision Models. The model is constructed from die-cast metal with plastic and rubber components, finished in a cream-white paint scheme with red pinstriping and a red chassis. The interior features brown, tufted-effect seating and black textured floor mats. The vehicle is highly detailed with numerous gold-toned brass-effect fittings, including the front lanterns, side lamps, steering column, and engine trim. It features wood-grain effect spoked wheels with black rubber tyres and a side-mounted spare tyre. The front radiator grille features a gold-toned script reading Mercedes. Accompanying the model is the original Styrofoam protective packaging, a manufacturer’s hangtag, an Engine Compartment Layout diagram card detailing nearside and offside views, and a descriptive booklet titled The Mercedes Simplex.
Condition report:
The model is in excellent collector-grade condition. It appears well-preserved within its original protective packaging. The paintwork is clean, and all delicate gold-toned fittings and accessories appear to be present and intact. All accompanying documentation is included and remains in good order.
