A large 20th-century hand-carved solid wood figurine of a seated cat. The sculpture is stylised in form, likely intended to represent a Siamese or similar breed, featuring oversized round eyes, deeply carved whiskers, and a defined muzzle with a slight smiling expression. The piece is constructed from a solid block of wood with a visible natural grain, finished in a warm medium-brown stain. The ears, paws, and tail are detailed with a contrasting dark brown to black stain. This type of decorative folk art is characteristic of artisanal exports from South East Asia, often associated with Thai designs. No maker’s marks, signatures, or labels are visible.
