A boat-shaped ceramic centerpiece bowl featuring a scalloped rim and elaborate scrolling foliate handles. The vessel is finished in a deep teal green glaze with extensive gilt highlights to the molded details. The body features two large reserves containing transfer-printed classical scenes of figures in draped robes, with one scene depicting a chariot within a landscape. These pictorial scenes bear a printed cursive signature for Kaufmann, in the style of the artist Angelica Kaufmann. The bowl is raised on an integral shaped pedestal foot with corresponding gilded and molded decoration. The underside of the base is marked with an impressed numeral 9 and shows some irregular glaze application and kiln stilt marks.

Condition report:
The bowl exhibits extensive fine surface crazing throughout the glaze. There is significant rubbing and wear to the gilding, particularly on the raised edges of the handles, rim, and foot. No chips, cracks, or repairs are visible upon inspection.
