A set of five mid-20th-century liqueur or sherry glasses, designed in the Art Deco style. Each glass features a clear glass bowl with a gilded rim and a horizontal stepped or ribbed detail towards the base. The bowls are supported by short, integrated clear stems leading to circular feet crafted from black glass, each finished with a gilded border at the edge. The construction is characteristic of soda-lime glass production from the 1930s through to the 1950s, a style that was common in the United Kingdom and Europe during this period. No legible manufacturer’s marks, symbols, or factory signatures are present on the undersides of the bases or the bodies of the glasses.
Condition report:
The set is in good overall condition. There is evidence of minor wear to the gilding on both the rims and the edges of the black bases, which is consistent with age and occasional use. The undersides of the feet show light surface scratching and shelf wear. No chips, cracks, or significant cloudiness were observed in the glass.
