A mid-20th-century oak and oak-veneered sideboard in the Jacobean Revival style, attributed to manufacturers such as Wood Bros (Old Charm) or Jaycee Furniture. The rectangular top sits above two drawers, each decorated with relief-carved rosette panels and recessed horizontal channels. Below the drawers, a two-door cupboard provides storage; the door fronts are embellished with recessed panels featuring carved arcaded detailing and dental moulding. The side pilasters are finished with vertical nulling and fluting. The piece is fitted with period-style metal hardware, including circular drop-ring pulls and butterfly hinges, with a central wooden turn-latch between the doors. The drawers are currently fitted with contemporary floral paper liners. The back of the unit is constructed with a plywood panel.
Condition report:
The sideboard is in fair used condition. The top surface exhibits significant signs of wear, including multiple surface scratches, scuffs, and areas of finish loss. A circular hole has been drilled through the back centre of the top surface. The carved details and hardware remain intact and well-defined. The piece is structurally sound.
