A detailed wooden model of the 38-gun frigate HMS Diana, launched in 1794. The hull is constructed with a white painted lower section, a black waterline band, and natural wood-finished planking. The upper bulwarks are finished in blue, featuring a decorative red and gold heraldic badge. The three-masted vessel is rigged with complex standing and running lines, including blocks, deadeyes, and stays. The deck is populated with various fittings including a ship’s wheel, capstans, and gratings. The model is mounted on a tiered mahogany-tone wooden display stand. The craftsmanship and detailing are characteristic of a high-quality kit-built model.
Overall length: approximately 60 cm.
Condition report:
The model is in good condition overall. The rigging appears largely intact and well-tensioned. There is some minor surface dust and light wear to the painted surfaces consistent with display. All masts and major deck fittings are present.
