The reel is constructed from timber cross-braces connected by a central core, designed for manual transport and rapid unspooling in the field. A heavy-duty woven canvas or jute webbing strap is attached to one end of the wooden frame for carrying. The wire features a double-strand twist with four-point barbs positioned at regular intervals. A rectangular white label is affixed to one of the wooden arms, though the printed text is not clearly legible. The design and construction are consistent with mid-20th century military field fortification equipment or surplus industrial stock used for defensive perimeters.
Condition report:
The item exhibits signs of age and weathering. The wooden reel shows darkening of the timber and surface abrasions. The woven carrying strap is frayed at the edges and shows significant wear.
