Buyer's Premium:

A large collection of vintage cigar bands, or vitolas, spanning various themes and brands, primarily dating from the mid-to-late 20th century. The group includes two spiral-bound collector albums produced by Ritmeester, titled The History of the Uniform, which feature mounted bands depicting international military uniforms alongside detailed English-language descriptions of ranks and units, including Service de Sante (Medical Corps) and Divisional General.

The collection also contains a sheet of Mission Impossible television series bands under the Rokende Jan brand, featuring portraits of the cast members. Fine art and heraldry are represented by large-format Alvaro bands, including reproductions of classic religious paintings such as La Oracion en el Huerto and San Juan Bautista Niño, alongside the Uriarte family coat of arms.

A selection of sports-themed bands from the Stompkop brand features football players, including a series commemorating the 1982 FIFA World Cup (España 1982) and individual player portraits such as J. Lozano of Beerschot A.C. and N. Dewalque of R.F.C. Liège. Historical figures are depicted in the Personajes series, featuring Willem van Ghent and Michiel de Ruyter. Other examples include floral and patterned designs by Jasneva. The collection is presented across mounted display sheets, within albums, and as a substantial quantity of loose examples contained within a brown paper envelope.

Albums: 300mm x 210mm
Mission Impossible sheet: 280mm x 210mm.

Condition report:

The collection is in generally good condition for vintage paper ephemera. The mounted bands are well-preserved with clear printing and vibrant colours. Loose bands contained in the envelope show typical minor handling wear, including light creasing and edge wear consistent with age. The album covers show light shelf wear, minor scuffing, and some wear to the spiral bindings.
