A collection of contemporary festive beaded hanging ornaments or suncatchers. Each piece is constructed around a circular wire hoop adorned with clear faceted beads. From these hoops descend multiple strands of mixed-media beads, including glass and plastic components. The beads are featured in various shapes such as rondelles, bicones, spheres, cubes, and faceted drops. The colour palette is predominantly festive, incorporating shades of red, green, white, amber, and clear. Decorative accents include metal snowflake and leaf charms, alongside beads with peppermint-stripe and snowflake motifs. The construction utilises both silver-toned and gold-toned wire with simple ring connectors. No maker’s marks or signatures are visible on the items.
Condition report:
The collection is in good overall condition. There is minor surface wear to some of the beads and light oxidation to some of the metal wire and connectors, consistent with age and use. The wirework displays some irregularities and loose ends characteristic of hand-assembled artisanal items. All components appear to be present and secure.
