A hand-blown art glass paperweight of spherical form. The interior features a swirling arrangement of deep blue and mustard yellow glass trails set against a translucent turquoise ground. The design is further detailed with numerous small, controlled air bubbles, or seeded inclusions, trapped within the glass to create a sense of movement and depth. The colour palette and technical execution are characteristic of the Sea and Sand pattern associated with the Mdina glass studio in Malta, although no signature or label is visible to confirm the maker. The base is ground and polished flat.
