A large studio pottery table lamp of spherical form, constructed from stoneware ceramic. The base features a cream-speckled ground decorated with hand-painted abstract swirling motifs in teal and earth-tone brown glazes, topped with a contrasting dark brown glazed neck. The lamp is fitted with a large tapered drum shade crafted from a cream-coloured parchment-style material, detailed with a thin green border at the top and bottom. The electrical assembly consists of a modern white plastic bayonet (BC) bulb holder and a white electrical flex. The design is characteristic of mid-to-late 20th-century artisanal ceramic production, in the style of the California Ceramic Company, although no maker’s marks or signatures are visible. This vintage electrical item should be inspected and PAT tested by a qualified electrician prior to use.
Base diameter: approximately 25cm – 30cm.
Condition report:
The ceramic base appears to be in good overall condition with no visible chips, cracks, or significant surface wear. The shade displays minor signs of age and handling, including a visible vertical seam and slight surface marking.
