A pair of clear glass commemorative goblets produced to mark the marriage of H.R.H. The Prince of Wales and Lady Diana Spencer. Each piece features a flared conical bowl decorated with a colour transfer-printed design. At the centre are portraits of the couple within a heart-shaped border, adorned with blue ribbons and scrolling motifs. Above the portraits is the Prince of Wales heraldic badge, depicting three ostrich feathers and a blue ribbon bearing the motto ICH DIEN. The text MARRIAGE OF THE PRINCE OF WALES AND LADY DIANA SPENCER arches above the main design, and a red ribbon banner at the base is inscribed with the wedding date 29th JULY 1981. The bowls are supported by multi-faceted knopped stems on plain, flat circular bases. A small, illegible white label is adhered to the underside of one base.
Condition report:
The goblets are in good vintage condition overall. There are no visible chips, cracks, or repairs to the glass. Some minor wear is evident to the transfer-printed decoration, particularly to the lettering and the coloured borders, consistent with age and handling.
