A set of three vintage promotional pin badges produced for McDonald’s in association with the Foundation for Nephrology. The collection comprises one shaped badge and two rectangular badges, all mounted on the original white cardstock backing. The shaped badge features a red ground with a gold-tone border, depicting the Ronald McDonald character alongside the golden arches logo, inscribed with the text McDonald’s and the trademark symbol TM. The two rectangular badges feature the Big Smile motif in red and yellow, utilising the golden arches as hair, the letters B and G as eyes, and a crescent smile. Each figure wears a large yellow bow tie inscribed with the word smile. The backing card displays a blue circular logo for the Foundation for Nephrology around a stylised N, along with the slogan ‘Nutty today tomorrow!! – Thank You.
Condition report:
The pins retain a glossy surface finish. A visible vertical hairline crack is present on the lower-left rectangular badge. The original backing card shows age-related toning, some foxing and staining, and minor wear to the edges.
