A commemorative die-cast model tram produced to celebrate the Golden Jubilee of Queen Elizabeth II (1952-2002), attributed to Corgi as part of their royal commemorative series. The double-decker tramcar is finished in a royal purple and cream livery with gold-coloured accents. The upper deck panels feature gold-tone inscriptions reading 1952 – Queen Elizabeth II – 2002. The side panels of the lower deck are decorated with the text Golden Jubilee flanking a central Royal Coat of Arms. The model is constructed from die-cast metal with plastic components used for the upper deck railings, windows, and chassis. It is presented in its original deep purple commemorative box featuring gold foil-blocked text on the lid and a gold-coloured satin fabric lining with a clear plastic protective insert. The lot includes a matching commemorative card or certificate of authenticity contained within a clear plastic sleeve.
Condition report:
The model tram is in excellent, as-new condition with no visible paint chips, losses, or structural damage. The presentation box is in good condition, showing only light surface scuffing and minor shelf wear consistent with age. A small white auction lot sticker numbered 687 is present on the top left corner of the lid.
